Our Wedding Story

It’s no secret we love travel and adventure. When we started dreaming up our wedding, we wanted to choose a location that felt true to us as a couple—somewhere with the activities we love most, and a place we’d be excited to return to again and again for the rest of our lives.

We first visited Chamonix, France on a rock climbing trip in June 2023, and we couldn’t stop talking about it afterward. The more we reminisced, the more it clicked: Chamonix would be the perfect place for us to get married.

That said, we quickly realized the logistical challenges (and massive carbon footprint) of hosting a large wedding in the French Alps. So we’re doing things in two parts: a small ceremony and mini-honeymoon in Chamonix, followed by a big reception-style celebration in San Francisco a couple of weeks later!

We both feel so lucky to have a huge village of family and friends, and we can’t wait to celebrate this milestone with all of you!

xoxo,

Elizabeth & Frits/Max

Visiting San Francisco

For our out-of-town guests, we've reserved blocks at two different hotels across the street from our venue on Nob Hill: The Fairmont and The Stanford Court.

San Francisco has many other great hotel and Airbnb options for those interested in staying in a different neighborhood.

The closest airport is San Francisco International Airport (SFO), but Oakland International Airport (OAK) is also an option.

Hotels

Reserve a room in one of our hotel blocks.

FAQ

WHAT IS THE DRESS CODE FOR THE CELEBRATION?

The dress code is formal attire, so mid-calf or long dresses for the ladies and coat & tie for the gentlemen.

HOW DO I RSVP?

We will send out reply cards as part of our formal invitation which will be mailed in early June. We kindly ask that you mail back your reply card by July 1, 2026.

I HAVE A FOOD ALLERGY, CAN I MAKE A SPECIAL REQUEST?

We will have several food stations with a variety of options to accommodate any dietary restrictions.

IS PARKING AVAILABLE AT THE VENUE?

The Pacific-Union Club has a small parking lot, however we encourage our guests to Uber or Taxi given the limited parking. The two hotels we reserved room blocks in are across the street from the venue, so all hotel guests should be able to walk to the celebration.

CAN I USE MY CELL PHONE?

The Pacific-Union Club has a strict ban on cell phone use inside the club. We kindly ask that all guests turn their cell phones off and keep them in a purse or pocket. Cell phone photos are not allowed during the celebration.

ARE THERE ANY OTHER EVENTS ON FRIDAY OR SUNDAY?

We don't have any other official events planned on Friday or Sunday. We encourage our out-of-town friends to have fun exploring San Francisco! Some restaurant recommendations in Nob Hill and surrounding neighborhoods:

The Big Four

China Live

Flour + Water Pizzeria

Original Joe's

Swan Oyster Depot (Lunch)

Mymy (Brunch)
